Review and edit XML files easily: XML Marker 1.1

XML Marker 1.1

More and more applications these days are writing data/metadata to XML files, and as they get larger, they almost always get more and more complex to navigate and view. Used to be viewing and editing them required a combination of using IE, which had a nice navigable stylesheet it used for XML viewing, and opening an editor like PSPad, which didn't mind the huge nature of some XML files.

How about something that combines a bit of both worlds?

More of a techie 'niche' program, XML Marker is actually very useful. This software is somewhat old (build date is 2004!), however, it is handy - especially if you are a developer, or have a need to review XML log files (Backup Exec, anyone?).

I seem to remember back in my days at one of my previous jobs, we used something called 'Proclarity', and there was HEAVY use of XML files in the software configuration and data retrieval. This utility would have been a great addition to our tools at that time.

In any case, XML Marker is a handy little XML viewer that you can use to navigate, view and edit your XML files with ease.

XML Marker features:
  • Syntax-highlighting
  • Double-click edit
  • Easy-to-navigate tree-view of XML nodes and data
  • Table view of XML data
  • Easy to print ability of all data
This falls under that category of 'No frills' as this application has just the right amount of features to make it extremely easy and effective to use.
