Google Talk is a great chat application - it is quick, clean, and simple to use. The really nice thing about GTalk is that it is free to use with your BlackBerry (although this tip is not just for BB users, as it works for the PC client too!).But, what if you wanted to keep in touch with your MSN, ICQ, and Yahoo contacts as well? There are a few good clients around for the PC side which consolidate various IM networks (my favorite is Trillian Basic), but the BlackBerry is limited...there are a few, but you need to download multiple clients.
I wanted a way to talk to my MSN contacts specifically, and there wasn't a quality free MSN Messenger client for the BlackBerry (as of last year, when I was searching for it initially), so I had to delve into the excellent forums at http://www.blackberryforums.com to find the answer.
Once I followed the instructions, I was able to chat with all of my contacts through Google Talk via my BlackBerry and PC clients!
Here are the instructions for the BlackBerry, but you can follow these to get them to work on the PC side as well (obviously excluding the BB steps!).
1. Install Google Talk on your BB.
2. Install Miranda (Jabber Client) on your PC.
Download link3. Unzip the following RAR archive to the Miranda directory under Program Files.
Download link4. Configure Miranda to connect to the Jabber network using the following instructions:

6. Once connected click on the crown icon at the top of the screen.
7. Select "Jabber", then select "Agents..."
8. Enter jabber.anywise.com into the "Jabber Server" box and click "Browse"
9. You should now see a list of services. Select the network you would like to connect to.
10. Click "Register".
11. Enter your login for that network and click "Register" again.
12. If you receive a successful registration your contacts from the new network should start showing up in Miranda if it is logged in.
13. Repeat for each network.
You should now see your contacts in GTalk...

hey
i have used those programs too, but recently have been using qnext, a java program that has an awesome universal im, but also lets me do a lot of other really cool stuff.
its share and video/audio chat capabilities are amazing.
hopefully they will release one soon for my blackberry
You might be able to convert the file if it is a valid .jar .jad to BB format... check blackberryforums.com, you might be surprised at what you find!
